Quantify the physical impact of extreme weather and climate change on any company's assets. Floods, droughts, hail and heat waves, assessed under current conditions and forward-looking climate scenarios, and returned as financial metrics you can act on.
Available on the Ecomate platform and via API.
Physical climate risk models developed in partnership with
Each hazard is modelled separately, then aggregated into a single climate risk score.
River, pluvial and coastal flooding, with damage curves calibrated on asset type.
Water stress and prolonged rainfall deficit, and their impact on operations and supply.
Convective storm and hail exposure, modelled at convection-permitting resolution.
Extreme heat frequency and duration, and the resulting productivity and asset stress.
From global climate models down to the single asset.
Data extracted from dynamic, downscaled global and regional climate models, combined with global and local datasets.
Asset geolocation: every site a company owns or leases is placed on the hazard map at the highest resolution available.
Engineering-based exposure and vulnerability methods estimate likely damage and asset failure probability.
Probabilistic algorithms produce risk metrics that are ready for decision-making, not just maps.
Forward-looking scenarios: risk is projected under current climate and future warming pathways.
Delivered on the Ecomate platform, in the ESG report, or through the Ecomate API.
The Climate Risk Score measures physical risk: the damage extreme weather and a changing climate can do to real assets in real places. It is complementary to the ESG Risk Score and to transition-risk metrics such as carbon exposure, and it is designed to be read alongside them rather than in place of them.
The score is expressed on the same 0–100 scale used across Ecomate products, so it can be read next to the ESG Risk Score.Become a distributor

Mate S.r.l. is the first Italian university spin-off dedicated to physical climate risk, born out of the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS in Pavia. A team of physicists and engineers, Mate extracts data from dynamic downscaled climate models and combines it with local datasets, using probabilistic algorithms and engineering-based methods to evaluate the exposure and vulnerability of assets. Their models are published in peer-reviewed scientific papers, and their team has worked on international projects funded by the EU, the World Bank and the United Nations.

A team of scientists with an ambitious project: to transfer research into innovation and assess physical climate risk better than anyone else.
The same underlying models are available at three levels of depth, depending on whether you need the raw hazard data, the analysis on top of it, or a model wired into your own operational decisions.
Informative data
Global and local climate data made accessible and usable at the highest resolution. Hazard variables and sustainability indices at European scale, constantly updated.
Data analytics
High-level insight on extreme weather and climate risk for a single company or a group of companies, expressed in simple financial metrics.
Modelling
Models built for the operational management of physical climate risk inside your own business processes.
The physical climate risk models behind the score are published in peer-reviewed scientific literature.
